Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in India On the occasion of the opening of Morocco visa application centers in India
The year 2018 heralds a new and significant occasion for the relations between Morocco and India as both countries celebrated last year the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. This is highlighted by the increasing bilateral cooperation in political and economic spheres while tourism has never been better and is expected to grow annually, especially after Morocco decided to set up a full-fledged tourism office in New Delhi in the first quarter of the year 2018. Hence and foreseeing growth and significance of the Indian tourist market to Morocco, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco has decided to outsource the visa services and has entrusted ‘‘Cox and King Global Services’’ (CKGS) with a contract to open visa application centers in India from 23rd January 2018 onwards. In this connection, visa application centers will be opened in major cities in India namely, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, in Phase 1, and Ahmadabad, Pune, Goa, Indore, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jaipur, in Phase 2. I am very confident that the visa application centers in different cities of India will provide relevant information on Moroccan visas and regulations as well as more ease and convenience to the local Indian tourists, particularly, through a dedicated website, in which information on all facets of the Kingdom of Morocco will also be available. Through this website, visitors can find useful information regarding visa processing procedures, requirements for Moroccan visas, as well as details on the visa application centers and weblinks to relevant Moroccan agencies. The opening of the visa application centers in major cities in India is another milestone which reflects the strength of the two countries’ relations as well as Morocco’s outreach to Indian travellers. The decision to outsource visa services remains very important in bringing together the two friendly peoples of Morocco and India, two countries with shared values and a history that goes back over several centuries.
